Miss India 2015 gets underway, Winners to compete for Miss World 2015, Miss International and Miss Grand International

Miss India remains a dream that many vie for India. Miss India 2015 is going to take place tomorrow on March 28th. As for my readers who would be wondering why I often switch from climate change and international readers to world of beauty. The reason is the viewership it has and the number of views is staggering for big ones like Miss Universe 2014/2015 and Miss World.  Miss India is a very respectable name in the world of beauty. India brings a flavor to this world which is hot as Indian spices and intriguing like the country itself.

With a very decent rate of predicting the winners and semifinalists and finalists I always make a post with the favorites. But this year I am doing so for the want of time. But still I will name my sentimental favorite. This year my favorite for the coveted title is Miss Deekhsa Kausal.

Deeksha has a great body frame and stand towering at 5 feet 11. Her beauty is both Indian and western. To complement it she has good articulation and is compendious in her answers.
My another sentimental favorite is my city girl Vartika Singh who was a finalist at Miss Diva 2014.

Miss India has a very good record at Miss World with 5 wins so far and quite a few runners ups and semifinalists. At the most recent event India won Miss Asia title, continental queen of Asia.

Miss World 2015 is Rolene Strauss and Deeksha resembles her in beauty but I find her beauty more intriguing just the kind I like.

Good Luck to all the Miss India 2015 contestants

A tribute to Indian Beauty

Indian girls are famous all over the world for their unique beauty. Their striking exotic features which are very different from white, Black or East Asian features. India is a kaleidoscope of many races including Caucasians (Aryans), Mediterranean, Mongoloids, Dravidians, Australoids. Inhabitants of Andaman and Nicobar Islands are closely related to the Black race. Over the 5000 years of continuing civilization history these races have mixed together to produce a very eclectic mixture of cultures and of course beauty.

Relevance of Miss Universe and Miss World
“Beauty pageants might be seen as irrelevant today but it is indeed a daunting task to be beautiful, stress free, calm, articulate, intelligent all at the same time. It takes a Lion’s heart to be flag bearer of country with 1.3 billion people in an event which still gets hundreds of millions viewership from all over the world.”
India has the second largest diaspora population in the world and they have achieved great success everywhere in the world. This year Miss World 2014 Competition had 7 Indian origin Beauties, 2 penetrating Top 10, India and Guyana.  Last year 5 Indian origin beauties competed at Miss Universe.

Miss Universe 2010
At Miss Universe 2010, 2 of the TOP 5 were of Mixed Indian origin, Jamaican Yendi Philips and Filipino Venus Raj.

India has produced great and memorable beauty queens. Aishwarya is a legend and so far the most successful Miss World ever. Sushmita and Lara Dutta are remembered for their answers which are rated amongst the best at Miss Universe ever.

Asha Bhatt: Miss Supranational 2014
Lara score a score of 9.9/10 at Miss Universe 2010 which is highest ever. India is also the Only Country to win Miss Universe and Miss World both in the same years twice, 1994 and 2000. It is also the only country to score a back to back victory at Miss World by winning in 1999 and 2000.

India won Miss World 3 times in 4 years itself speaks the power of Indian beauty and Brains.  With 7 Big 2 crowns (Miss World and Miss Universe) India enjoys a very respectable position in the pageantry. With 7 Big 2 crowns (Miss World and Miss Universe) India enjoys a very respectable position in the pageantry.

This performance is commendable as the there was never a huge popular support from the Indians in general. This year India has won Miss Supranational, Third after Miss Universe and Miss World in terms of production quality. Also India won 3 other minor crowns this year. It's raining Beauty for India : Wins 4 beauty pageants this month

Indian beauty on a roll

India is considered a super power in beauty pageants with 5 Miss World and 2 Miss Universe crowns. India is one of the most successful countries in the beauty pageants. India holds a unique record of winning the two most coveted crowns Miss Universe and Miss World in the same year twice, in 1994 and 2000. In fact in 2000 India held 4 major crowns in the world of pageants. This year has been somewhat a repeat of the year 2000 with Indian girls winning four beauty crowns. Though Koyal Rana was not able to make the final cut at Miss World, she made India proud by emerging the topper of the leader board before the final round. She made it to top 10 as the highest scorer. She also won Beauty with a Purpose title and was adjudged the best in designer gown. She was also in top 5 of beach beauty and Multimedia.  After the semi-final the scores were set to zero again and no rounds happened to shortlist the candidates for final. Transparency was missing from Miss World this year as we do not know how the top 5 were chosen. Nevertheless it was a good performance from Koyal Rana.

Asha Bhatt, 22 year old engineering student from Karnataka won Miss Supranational 2014 on December 6, 2014 beating 70 other contestants. Miss.Miss Supranational is considered 3rd most coveted title after Miss Universe and Miss World. It is better than Miss Earth and Miss International in terms of production quality and Brazilian Beauty portal Globalbeauties lists it as a Grand slam pageant. Miss Earth 2014 was won by host country girl Jamie Herrell. It was second time in 14 years that Philippines won the title of Miss Earth. There has been a lot of criticism surrounding this pageant as the host country makes the semifinal cut almost every year.

Miss Supranational 2014 was held in Warsaw, Poland. She also won the Miss talent round at the contest. Thailand took second place and Gabon emerged third. USA and host country Poland were 4th and 5th respectively

In the same month of December India won three other beauty pageants.
Ruhi Singh, won Miss Universal Peace and humanity in Beirut Lebanon. This is the very First year for this pageant and it hopes to bring peace in the most unsettled part of the world, Middle East..

Swetha Raj, won the coveted Miss Asia Pacific World 2014. This was third year in a row that India won this title. Swetha raj was Miss India Australia as well. The 2014 Miss Asia Pacific World, May Myat Noe from Burma, was crowned on 31 May 2014 but was dethroned after three months.

India’s fourth crown for the month and year is Miss Tourism Queen International 2014 (China Version). India’s Parul Bindal won the crown in Shenzen China on December 12. Here is video link for her crowning moment.
